A pomsky is a crossbreed between a Siberian Husky and a Pomeranian. This typically results in the adorable mini-husky shown above. However, pomskies can vary quite a bit in size or appearance while still being 100% pomsky. There are 15 different colors and patterns listed on the APKC website. Any coloring that is possible in either parent breed may show up. Pomskies also come in three different size categories. Some people classify the sizes by height rather than weight, but this is the basic weight breakdown.
Toy: Under 15 pounds
Mini: Up to 20 pounds
Standard: Up to 35 pounds
One fun fact that you may not yet know is that the APKC is working towards establishing the Pomsky as a fully recognized breed by the American Kennel Club. The ultimate plan for the pomsky breed will include mixing American Eskimo as a 3rd breed into the pomsky genetic make-up. The goal is to create an amazing new breed that combines the qualities of all three breeds.
